Sheikh Mohammed announces launch of National University of Dubai

Dubai has embarked on an ambitious educational venture with the introduction of the National University of Dubai, announced with a substantial initial investment of Dh4.5 billion. The institution is poised to offer specialized and futuristic academic programs, targeting a place among the top 50 young universities worldwide within the next decade.

In a pivotal declaration via social media, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, emphasized the transformative vision of this initiative.

"Today we are launching a new project to develop education in our country... Its goal is to be among the top 50 young universities over the next decade," he noted.

The university is designed to reflect an Emirati identity while providing internationally competitive programs that align with the UAE’s developmental objectives.

Further adding to the university's ambitious goals, Sheikh Mohammed remarked on the rapid changes shaping the global landscape and the imperative to adapt.

"The world is changing rapidly, and the real challenge is to create generations capable of absorbing these changes and harnessing them to build a better future for our nation," Sheikh Muhammed explained.

This educational endeavour is a cornerstone of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, a comprehensive ten-year strategy focusing on 'Family: The Foundation of Our Nation'. The agenda underscores the commitment to fortifying Emirati families, focusing on housing, quality of life, identity and values, social cohesion, healthcare and equipping the UAE’s youth with future skills.

The National University of Dubai is set to enhance the academic landscape and integrate into broader societal goals, ensuring the next generation of Emiratis can compete and excel on a global stage.

By aligning with Dubai's strategic educational vision, the university is a beacon of hope and an investment in the future, positioning itself as a hub of research and academic innovation.
