Saudi reopens tourism sector with fervor

Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority (GEA) is all set to launch Oasis Riyadh, the business-entertainment-food desert festival, on Sunday (17th Jan).

The three-month event is an initiative to recommence tourism in the kingdom and was launched by Turki Al Sheikh, chairman of GEA. This will include a variety of outdoor frivolous activities, including concerts and sports games.

It will be held in the north of Riyadh and will witness diverse international food outlets and luxury tents to relish the full-on entertainment elements of the event.

Saudi had organized a competition amongst the citizens to share their ideas and suggestions on various activities, out of which the best 20 ideas will be rewarded. Oasis Riyadh is organized by the Saudi youth in cooperation with international companies and is the first program of the entertainment initiative this year.

Saudi Arabia's Tourism Minister Ahmed al-Khateeb had announced last month the kingdom's plans to resume tourist visas by early 2021. Various sectors are optimistic about the upcoming events on a note to surge their stagnant growth.
