Saudi Red Sea authority introduces new yachting regulations

The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) announced new regulations for yachting in the Red Sea on Thursday. These rules establish comprehensive requirements for the use of yachts in the region, as well as the procedures for obtaining tourism and leisure licenses, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The new regulations will define the conditions for issuing technical licenses for leisure tourism and set criteria for yacht owners and authorized tourism maritime agents. The guidelines will also emphasize environmental protection of coastal areas, promoting sustainability and ensuring compliance with safety measures.

Additionally, the regulations will specify the mandatory documentation needed for a tourism trip permit within Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea waters, including passenger details, sailing destinations and a chartering contract.

The introduction of these regulations coincides with SRSA’s awareness campaign, More Than a Sea, which highlights the authority's role in advancing coastal tourism.
