Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has lifted most of the precautionary as well as preventive measures against Covid-19 on Saturday, Arab News reported, citing Saudi Press Agency.

The Ministry of Interior informed that practices including social distancing and wearing masks outdoors were made not mandatory anymore. Social distancing in the Two Holy Mosques, along with all other mosques, has been lifted. But here, devotees must wear masks.

Further, from now on, international travellers need not take mandatory quarantine after arrival into the country. They also need not take PCR tests anymore. But all arrivals to Saudi who are on visit visas of any kind are required to get the insurance that could cover treatment costs that might incur due to Covid-19.

However, the ministry emphasized the importance of following the guidelines of the national plan for immunization; This includes getting a booster dose verifying health status on the "Tawakkalna" app. The latter is needed to enter public places, attend events etc.

The measures taken above are out of the continuous evaluation of the Kingdom's health authorities with respect to the evolving pandemic situation, the ministry added.
