Saudi in top 50 nations of most research in natural sciences

Jeddah: Saudi Arabia got into the top 50 countries in the world in the Natural Index Annual Tables 2021 for the amount of natural science research conducted in 2020, reports Arab News.

According to Munir bin Mahmoud El-Desouki, president of King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology, the country achieved the milestone due to its leadership's support for the natural research and innovation system.

He said that Saudi leadership took quick steps to promote the Kingdom's global;l position in scientific research by creating the Research, Development and Innovation Authority, which Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman heads.

He said that the Kingdom would work further to improve its competitive ranking in scientific research and consolidate its leading global position. This will help it achieve the objective of Vision 2030 and in moving toward an innovation-based economy.

Saudi stayed the largest contributor among Arab countries for all-natural sciences and the second-largest contributor among the West Asian, Middle Eastern, and African grouping. It also came first in Arab Countries in all four unique natural science disciplines that were analysed.
