Saudi expo showcases AlUla’s cultural heritage to Chinese audience

AlUla’s rich cultural and national heritage is being showcased in Beijing as part of the ongoing Saudi Travel Expo, taking place at Tiantan Park until October 26. The Royal Commission for AlUla is participating in the expo following an agreement between Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Culture and China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The event highlights AlUla as one of Saudi Arabia's top tourist destinations, with growing interest from Chinese visitors. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the number of international tourists visiting AlUla in 2023 increased by 44 percent compared to previous years.

The Saudi Travel Expo provides a platform to showcase AlUla’s diverse cultural and heritage offerings, featuring photographs and videos of the region. AlUla, along with Diriyah, is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites — the Hegra (Mada’in Saleh) archaeological site and At-Turaif District. These sites play a key role in promoting the Kingdom's heritage on the global stage, further strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and China.
