LuLu, Ariel (P&G) breaks Guinness World Record, dedicates to 93rd Saudi National Day

Riyadh: LuLu Hypermarket, Saudi Arabia’s fastest growing and largest retail chain (33 hypermarkets and counting), and Ismail Abu Dawood and Procter & Gamble Limited (P&G), manufacturer of brand products such as Pampers, Tide, Ariel, and Herbal Essences have partnered to celebrate the 93rd Saudi National Day with a Guinness World Records title.

On September 19, 2023, in partnership with Ariel (P&G) Saudi Arabia, LuLu made a large eye-catching formation out of 16,494 Ariel detergent packs in the shape of the number 93 to set the Guinness World Record for the “Largest Packaged Product Number” at the Alawwal Park Stadium in Riyadh.

Attending the event was one of the biggest Saudi media celebrity guests Yousif Al Jarrah. "I am very pleased to be here on this special day to celebrate the 93rd National Day and to participate with my brothers at LuLu Hypermarket and Ariel in achieving the world's largest number, and I congratulate them on receiving the Guinness certificate,” he said.

The LuLu &Ariel (P&G) teams have been working on a logistics and design blueprint to build the formation, and the companies’ Saudi employees participated in the event.

Guinness World Records officials were also present to authenticate and certify the attempt.

To mark the Hypermarket’s role in the progress of Saudi Arabia, the retail giant is all set to partner with Al Bir charity to donate 6,000 packs from the display to families in need. This will also be part of the LuLu ESG effort.

Of the remaining packs, more than 10,000 lucky customers shopping at the LuLu stores in Riyadh on Saudi National Day (September 23), will get them for free on a first-come-first-serve basis.
