11 Indians injured in Riyadh airport attack, one man killed
The Indian Embassy in Riyadh is monitoring the condition of 11 Indian nationals injured in the October 10 attack on King Khalid International Airport, which killed 12 people and wounded more than 300 others, according to reports.
In a statement, the Embassy of India said it had contacted local authorities to check on the injured nationals and had also reached out to hospital authorities. It said further updates would be shared as they became available.
India has strongly condemned repeated attacks on King Khalid International Airport and other civilian facilities in Riyadh in recent days. The condemnation included the October 10 attack, which caused deaths, injuries and property damage.
According to Indian media reports, an Indian man was among those killed in the attack. Several members of his family were also reported to have been injured.
One of his sons sustained a knee injury and underwent surgery, while another son was receiving treatment for a leg injury, the reports said. His wife and daughter were safe. His aunt reportedly suffered head injuries and was receiving treatment, although she was believed to be out of danger.
India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said the Indian Embassy would extend all possible assistance to the family.
The attack killed 12 people of different nationalities and injured more than 300, according to the reports. At least 10 Indians were reported injured in the attack on the airport complex.
