Dr Moza al Hail is set to receive the prestigious Shi Q Empress Life Time Achievement Award, while Mariam Mamdouh Farid has been honoured with the esteemed Shi Q Princess Youth Icon Award at a ceremony today that promises to be a grand celebration of these remarkable Qatari women and their unwavering commitment to excellence in their fields.
‘She Q Empress’ Award for Lifetime Achievement in Pharmacy
Dr. Moza al Hail, the Executive Director of Pharmacy at Hamad Medical Corporation, will be receiving the coveted ‘She Q Empress’ award for her remarkable lifetime achievements in the field of pharmacy. Dr. Al Haili's illustrious career spans over 34 years, during which she has not only broken barriers but set new standards for excellence.
As the first Qatari woman to hold a professorship in pharmacy, she was conferred this honour by Robert Gordon University in the UK, a testament to her extensive experience and expertise. Dr. Al Haili's journey in pharmacy has seen her rise through the ranks from pharmacist to senior pharmacist and ultimately to the Executive Director of pharmacy at HMC.
Dr. Al Haili's impact extends beyond the confines of her profession. She has been a trailblazer in launching innovative healthcare initiatives, including the unit dose system, IV unit, and clinical pharmacy service at the Women's Hospital. Her visionary leadership also played a pivotal role during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she spearheaded the development of systems for delivering medications to patients at home, ensuring continued access to essential healthcare services.
‘She Q Princess’ Award for Athletic Excellence
Mariam Mamdouh Farid, a Qatari athlete who has dazzled on the athletics track, will be honoured with the ‘She Q Princess’ award. Mariam Farid etched her name in the annals of Qatari sports history by competing in the 400m hurdles at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha, becoming the first Qatari woman athlete to achieve this remarkable feat. Her achievements extend to the international stage, where she also represented Qatar in the 200m at the World Junior Athletics Championships.
