Kuwait Deputy PM meets Kerala Chief Minister to discuss investment, cooperation

Kuwait City: Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Youssef Saud Al-Sabah met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Al Bayan Palace on Thursday to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between Kuwait and the southern Indian state.




 


The talks covered investment and collaboration in infrastructure, tourism and technology. Kuwait’s Minister of Finance and Kuwait Investment Authority Chairman Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem attended the meeting.

Sheikh Fahad acknowledged the role of the Indian community, particularly Keralites, in Kuwait’s growth and assured continued support for expatriates. Vijayan thanked Kuwait for its hospitality and described Kerala as a favorable destination for investment.

Kerala Chief Secretary Dr. Jayathilak IAS, Lulu Group Chairman Yusuff Ali MA and Indian embassy officials accompanied Vijayan.




 


Later, the Chief Minister met Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, a board member of the Kuwait Investment Authority and Director-General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority. Sheikh Meshaal said a high-level Kuwaiti delegation would visit Kerala soon to assess investment prospects. Vijayan also held talks with Trade and Industry Minister Khalifa Abdullah Dahi Al-Ajil Al-Askar to promote Kerala’s industrial potential and investment policies.
