Iran on Wednesday denied the existence of a secret nuclear facility at Kolang mountain after US President Donald Trump threatened to strike the site.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said on X that there was no nuclear activity at Kolang mountain and described Washington's focus on the location as "a fabricated pretext for aggression, destruction, and sabotage."
He said Iran's nuclear activities had been fully declared to the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Trump had warned on Tuesday that the United States would strike the site, known in English as Pickaxe Mountain.
"We'll be hitting that area pretty soon, and very heavily," Trump said, adding that he would not normally announce military targets but claimed, "there's not a thing they can do about it."
The United States has not carried out the threatened strike.
In 2025, media reports by The Washington Post and The New York Times said Iran had accelerated construction at an underground nuclear site at Kolang mountain. Tehran denied the reports at the time.
Kolang mountain is located near Iran's Natanz nuclear facility, which was bombed by the United States during a brief conflict in June 2025.
