Gulf resolution: Saudi Foreign Minister praises efforts made by US and Kuwait

Riyadh: Saudi foreign minister Amir Faisal Bin Farhan has praised Kuwait and the United States for their efforts to resolve the three and a half-year-old crisis. The minister tweeted that he appreciates Kuwait's efforts to bridge the gap between different perspectives on the Gulf crisis and the US intervention in it, which is commendable. He added that he hoped that those moves would be successful for the benefit of the region.

Kuwaiti foreign minister Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al Sabah said on Friday that effective talks were underway in the coming days to resolve the Gulf crisis. The Saudi foreign minister tweeted in response to this. The Kuwaiti minister said that all parties involved in the issue had expressed their desire to find a solution that would benefit their people.

Al Sabah added that the stability and the unity of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab world was what everyone wanted and were evident in the talks. Al Sabah also thanked US President Donald Trump's adviser Jared Kushner for his keen interest in resolving the issue. Responding to the statement, the foreign minister expressed Saudi Arabia's keen interest in resolving the issue.
