Dubai Tourism and Commercial Marketing Department (DTT) has announced the temporary suspension of leisure activities in hotels and restaurants in the emirate from Thursday (January 21) until further notice.
The Department, in a circular addressed to the owners and managers of hotel and restaurant facilities in Dubai, said that the decision is part of its efforts to ensure that all comply with precautionary measures as per the requirements specified in the DTT circular dated on 23 December 2020. The new measure from DTT comes amidst a rise in the number of violations during inspections.
It also stated that the officials had logged 200 violations during field inspections within three weeks and had temporarily shut down 20 of them.
The Department said it will continuously assess the new situation with the health authorities. "We appreciate your constant cooperation and value your efforts to serve the public good and protect the health and safety of society," the circular stated.
