According to the data revealed by the General Authority for Statistics (GAST) data showed that chicken and potatoes topped the list of 128 goods hit by price rises. In comparison, cardamom ranked first among the 35 goods that witnessed a decrease in prices during the last month.
The authority's data shed light on the average prices of goods and services in the Saudi market for September.
In the food and beverage section, the local medium potato was the most expensive commodity, with a price rise rate of 65.95 percent, followed by local frozen chicken, which increased by 36.22 percent. American cardamom remained at the bottom of goods, with a price decrease of 20.10 percent.
In the construction goods section, the data showed an increase in the prices of 27 items. In the clothing section, the prices of all commodities increased during September.
