Man drives bulldozer to flooded bridge saving 9 people in Telangana

Hyderabad: A man in Telangana has become a real life hero after saving nine people stuck on a bridge in raging floods when a helicopter gave up the rescue operation.

Subhan Khan from Haryana drove his bulldozer down to the bridge through raging waters when others warned him about risking his life.

When water levels began to rise following heavy rains, nine people were trapped on Prakash Nagar Bridge on Munneru River in Telangana's Khammam district.

The government dispatched a helicopter after they requested the government to help them out in a video. The chopper could not reach the spot due to bad weather.

It was then Subhan Khan decided to drive his bulldozer to rescue them declaring "If I die, it is one life, but if I return, I will save nine," when others warned him against venturing into the raging waters.

Eventually when Subhan Khan returned with nine people, people erupted into loud cheers.

Subhan Khan's daughter was heard saying in a video that she was shivering when her father managed to save people.

The daring rescue operation has earned Subhan Khan ‘massive popularity’ with people praising his courage.

His phone was flooded with calls from people including Opposition leader KT Rama Rao.

The BRS leader congratulated him in a post on X saying that ‘It just isn't just about lot of guts’, adding that one needs a heart to be true hero.

Rao also said that Subhan Khan saved many families from a lifelong pain when the government was thinking how they should get a helicopter to rescue people.
