University in UP to include Ramdev, Yogi and Sadhguru in syllabus

Lucknow: Based on the decision of the board of studies, Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut shall teach the ideas of UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Jaggi Vasudev and yoga guru Baba Ramdev. The syllabus shall include both books written by them and others, including Yogi's Hath Yoga form and practice, published by the Gorakhnath Trust Fund.

In addition to Ramdev's yoga Sadhana and Yoga Medicine, the BA Philosophy syllabus shall also include Yoga practical classes. Kuwar Bechain's poems and Bashir Badu's Urdu work have been included in Hindi literature.

Claiming that the earlier syllabus included more foreign mathematicians, Indian origin mathematicians like Aryabhatta, Bhaskaracharya, Lilavati, Ramanuj, Madhwacharya, etc., and their contributions, have been included in the BSc syllabus.

Dr DN Singh, Convenor of Meerut University, noted that 30% curriculum would be covered by two minor papers, applied ethics and applied philosophy, whose syllabus shall include Isha Kriya Sadhna by Jaggi Vasudev. The move is the latest of a long stream of moves by the saffron government to introduce its ideology and practices into academic institutions.
