UGC warns against fake circular on offline exams, no such circular issued

New Delhi: A circular claiming that all universities will conduct offline exams is fake, according to the University Grants Commission (UGC). The circular has been making the rounds on various social media platforms.

Taking to Twitter, the UGC issued a clarification regarding this fake notice. "This public notice is #FAKE! University Grants Commission has NOT published any such notice," the commission wrote.

As all colleges and universities are maintaining COVID-19 protocols, offline exams can also be conducted while maintaining physical separation at their home centres, according to the fake notice.

"So, all the Universities are hereby advised to conduct all the current and future semester examinations in offline mode in their home centres while maintaining COVID-19 protocols."

According to the fake circular, "Universities are requested to take proper precautions to conduct examinations in offline mode."

A UGC tweet clarified that no such advisory had been issued by the commission.

DDMA has enforced strict compliance with Covid protocols for all academic, teaching, and learning activities as of today.
