Copernicus Climate Change Services reported last month as the hottest November in the records while Europe experienced its warmest autumn. During last month global temperature was nearly 0.8 degree Celsius above stranded 30-year reference period of 1981-2010 and 0.1 degree Celsius above till 2019 November.
However, for Western Antarctica and Central Asia temperatures were below average line.
Copernicus Climate Change Services alarmed on the above average temperature in the regions of Artic and and large parts of Northern Siberia throughout the year and lower ice cover in the same region.
"This trend is concerning and highlighting the importance of comprehensive monitoring of the Artic. As it is warming faster than the rest of the world. " said Carlo Buontempo, Director of Copernicus Climate Change Services cautioned.
In addition, he asked the policy makers to priorities on mitigating climate risksalong with adhering to 2015 Paris agreement.
Based on the so far gained observations,World Meteorological Organization (WMO) had announced 2020 is set to become one of the three hottest years so far on the records and 2011-202 as the hottest decade.
According to WMO release dated December 2, average globaltemperature of 2020 has estimated to be 1.2 degree Celsius above preindustrial level and chances are located to exceeding it to 1.5 degree Celsius by 2024.
