Suresh Gopi summoned by police in ‘misbehaviour’ with woman journalist case

Thiruvananthapuram: The BJP leader and Malayalam celebrity Suresh Gopi was summoned by Kerala Police to the Nadakavu Police Station in Kozhikode on Wednesday following a complaint from a female journalist about what she described as "improper touching" with the actor.

On October 27, Gopi put his hand on the female journalist's shoulder while he answered her questions in front of the media.

Following the incident, the journalist's bodies protested against the "inappropriate" behaviour of Gopi and demanded an apology.

The next day, Gopi tendered an apology, however, a few journalists and the CPI-M youth wing again took up the issue and turned it into a heated discussion on the social media platforms leading to the woman journalist filing a complaint against the actor.

Gopi is all set to contest the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket.
