Kannur: PP Divya, CPM leader and former Kannur district panchayath president, currently in remand in connection with the ADM's suicide case, will submit a fresh bail application to the Thalassery court today. Her new arguments cite Kannur Collector's statement, which acknowledges the ADM's admission of a mistake.
Divya's counsel questions the investigation team's oversight for not probing the nature of the mistake. Additionally, they point out the omission of Prashant's statement in court, despite the government order suspending him confirming bribery allegations. She also claims there are deliberate moves behind this.
In her statement to the investigation team, Divya maintained her stance against corruption and her farewell meeting remarks were not intended to harm the ADM. Her statement says that she only tried to expose official corruption. However, she did not provide a clear response to bribery allegations.
Divya also told the investigation team that the Collector was aware of the farewell meeting and he had invited her to attend.
Meanwhile, Naveen's family is expected to oppose her bail petition.
The court may hear the petition the next day, as tomorrow is a holiday. As the same time the CPM district secretariat will convene today to discuss potential organizational action against Divya.
