Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in a roadshow, his second in two weeks, scheduled for January 16 in Kochi, before attending the wedding ceremony of actor and BJP leader Suresh Gopi's daughter in Guruvayur.
On Tuesday, the Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive at Kochi Naval Airport at 5 pm, where a one-kilometre-long roadshow will commence from Maharajas College Ground at 6 pm. The route will traverse Hospital Road and Park Avenue before concluding in front of the Ernakulam Guest House.
Around 50,000 BJP party workers are expected to participate, showing their support for the Prime Minister.
After an overnight stay in Kochi, Modi will depart for Guruvayur in a helicopter at 7 am on Wednesday. He will partake in worship at 8 am and then attend the wedding ceremony of Suresh Gopi's daughter Bhagya. Heightened security measures have been put in place for the event, with speculations suggesting the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah.
Following the wedding, Modi is slated to return to Kochi to inaugurate the International Ship Repair Facility and dry dock of the Cochin Shipyard at Willingdon Island at 10 am. At 11 am, he is expected to meet 7,000 Shakti Kendra in-charges in Marine Drive. The Prime Minister will then conclude his visit, flying back to Delhi after the events.
This visit follows the Prime Minister's recent participation in a mega rally in Thrissur, where the BJP is speculated to field Suresh Gopi for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
