KOCHI: KSRTC's jungle safari from Kothamangalam to Munnar has become a great success in the state. In a span of six months, KSRTC made 197 trips with 9,697 tourists to enjoy the scenic beauty of the forest from Kuttampuzha to Munnar along the Mamalakandam and Mankulam. forest trails.
The state-owned bus service has earned Rs 51.2 lakh through the jungle safari. For a loss-making public transport operator, the Jungle Safari has become a rare success. The service brought in a profit of Rs 25,20,129 in six months.
The service begins at 8 am from the Kothamangalam KSRTC depot and drives towards Bhoothathankettu. Tourists will be taken to Thattekad Bird Sanctuary by boat through the reservoir.
The bus will reach Kuttampuzha from Thattekad and proceed to Mankulam via Mamalakandam. Lunch will be arranged at a Perumbankuthu resort. After the rest, the safari will proceed to Munnar via Lakshmi Estate.
