The Kerala government has set up a free Covid-19 testing facility at the Viswas Auditorium Talapady, a border town between Kasargod (Kerala) and Mangaluru (Karnataka).
Three teams of health experts are available at the facility, and people can receive their test results on their mobile phones within a day. People can download certificates from the health department's portal by noon the day after people take the test, reported The News Minute.
The Karnataka government has made it mandatory for anyone travelling from Kerala to carry a negative RT-PCR test certificate taken within 72 hours. The rule is applicable to those who have taken both doses of the vaccine as well.
Kerala has been consistently reporting the highest number of Covid-19 cases in India for weeks now. As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data, Kerala has 1.76 lakh active cases.
The Kasargod district administration said that the testing facility is set up by the Health Department to help people facing difficulties at the border. The Karnataka government had set up a similar Covid-19 testing facility at the same border in March 2021.
