Jagan to be the first doctor from Keralas' tribal hamlet

Vythiri: Ravi, Ambika and their daughter Athira are ecstatic. Jagan, their son, shall be the first person to become a doctor from the dairy farm in Pookode, Wayanad, an exclusively inhabited by tribals in Kerala. Jagan is the son of Ravi, an autorickshaw driver and Ambika, an employee at the Pookode University Farm.

Jagan dedicates his degree to his parents whose greatest wish has been to make their son a doctor. As their son excelled in each grade, their wish grew stronger. Jagan's degree is his return to his parents who spent all they had on his education.

Jagan overstepped obstacles of poverty and completed his SSLC from Pookode Eklavya MRS, and his Plus Two from Pookode Navodaya school with flying colours. He completed his MBBS degree from Thrissur Medical College and is pursuing house surgeoncy at the same. Jagan hopes to work for public welfare. His sister, Athira, is awaiting admission for BSc Chemistry at Kozhikode Guruvayoorapan College.
