Kochi: The High Court of Kerala on Tuesday rejected a petition filed by actor Dileep seeking quashing of the case against him of conspiracy to assassinate the probe team in the case of attacking the actress.
The judgment which represents a major setback to the actor, was delivered by the single bench of Justice Ziyad Rahman in the landmark case.
Following the revelation by director Balachandra Kumar, the crime branch registered a case of conspiracy to murder. The charge is of Dileep, the first accused and his accomplices had conspired to liquidate the police officials who investigate the 2017 case of his assaulting an actress.
The other accused in the conspircy are Dileep's brother Anoop and brother-in-law TN Suraj, his relative Appu, his friend Baiju Chengamanadu, Sarath, a hotel owner in Aluva, and Sai Shankar, a cyber expert who helped destroy digital evidence.
