Governor of Kerala delivers policy address at start of budget session, opposition walks out

As Governor Arif Mohammad Khan delivered the policy address that marked the beginning of the Budget session 2022-23, the UDF (United Democratic Front) walks out the Assembly on Friday, January 18. In conjunction with the Budget session 2022-23, the governor has addressed the Kerala Assembly.

Although Chief Minister Pinaryi Vijayan and Speaker MB Rajesh welcomed Governor KK Palaniswami cordially, the opposition greeted him with 'go back' slogans. The Governor has long-standing issues with both the ruling party and the opposition party and was unsatisfied with the negative reception.

The opposition leader, VD Satheesan was told that he was a responsible person and should act accordingly.

In his attack on the governor, the opposition leader said that he was the BJP's agent in Kerala and was simultaneously helping the government in its illegal activities while pressuring them to realize his end of the bargain.

A policy address was initially refused by Arif Mohammad Khan but was signed after he was reappointed to the General Administration department, noted VD Satheesan.

Additionally, he cited the example of his appointment to the position of vice-chancellor at Kannur University and his signing of the Lokayukta amendment ordinance.
