Fraternity Movement denounces organised violence against Muslims

Kozhikode: Fraternity Movement state president Naeem Gafoor has alleged that the killing of four people by Hindutva mobs in different parts of India within a week reflects the continued strengthening of what he described as institutionalised killing against Muslims.

In a statement, he said the victims included people ranging from a 13-year-old boy to a 65-year-old elderly man. Those killed were identified as Unais Khan, Roshan Khatoon, Abdul Salam and Aamir.

Gafoor said the incidents demonstrate how deeply violent racial attitudes towards Muslim bodies have become within sections of Indian society, adding that such attacks are repeatedly occurring as disturbing realities.

He further alleged that the RSS is portraying the Muslim community as an “other” through the spread of hatred in order to strengthen Hindutva politics with the backing of the ruling establishment. According to him, the organisation is continuously producing messages in society that encourage mobs to take over the streets and target Muslims.

Gafoor added that the Fraternity Movement would lead strong protests and people-led social resistance against what he described as the openly racial violence of Hindutva nationalism.
