Birthday Blowout: Dad gets his 3-decade old sold-out car as son's surprise gift

Kozhikode:  Niyaz Ahmed, 29, of Kozhikode, Kerala surprised his father by giving him a rare birthday gift. CKC Abdul Nazer, a vehicle supervisor at Kalpetta KSRTC Depot was astounded on his 54th birthday on receiving a cool gift in advance from his son. Nazer's birthday is on 20th October.

In 1992, Abdul Nazer bought a Maruti 800 and sold it out after 15 years of use to Majeed, a fellow native for 44,000 and he too sold after using it a couple of times.

The current Maruti-800 car has gone hand in hand. After the long years of hard work it was found at Thiruvananthapuram. The 1985 Model KR Z 7898 Car registered at Kozhikode was sold by Abdul Nazer due to economic downturn in 2007.

"As a child, Niyaz Ahmad was also so passionate about the car", says Nazer.

Years later, intense enthusiasm for the old car grew even more. Niyas started searching in different parts of the state to find the owner with a ray of hope.

During his studies at Banglore, Niyaz searched in the website of Motor Vehicles Department and found the car at Thiruvanathapuram, Kerala's capital city. Two years ago, Niyaz got his job at Thiruvanathapuram and he continued his attempt to find the owner of the car.

On November 20th of last year the vehicle was found with one Umesh, a native of Trivandrum who was not ready to sell at first.

After a year of attempt, Niyaz, the Director of 'Mall of Travancore' Shopping Mall acquired his father's asset for Rs 94,000.

Niyaz dispatched the old car as gift after transferring the documents to his father's name.

The surprise was revealed in the presence of his siblings Rasha Zainab and Nasser Siha and found their dad startled with joy. However the glory is back in place.
