Palakkad: A total of five people allegedly involved in the conspiracy to murder SDPI activist Subair (43) have been taken into custody.
Many of them hail from Elappully, where the murder occurred at noon on Friday, and the nearby Para region.
Four of the currently in custody were arrested at Kazhchaparambu in Palakkad while trying to escape to Kodungallur by car. It is believed that they provided support to the accused and participated in the conspiracy.
Local RSS activist Sreenivasan was hacked to death within 24 hours of the murder of Subair in Palakkad. The killing of Sreenivasan is believed to have been revenge for Subair's murder.
Subair's funeral was held near the Juma Masjid at Elappully on Saturday.
