Thiruvananthapuram: Install FASTag in your vehicle or get ready to pay double the fee at the toll plaza.
The Central road transport authorities have made the electronic toll connection device mandatory as of Wednesday onwards.
The road ministry decided to go ahead with its plan to implement FASTag and would not give any consideration to vehicles sans the device.
However, a large number of old vehicles in the state have not yet fitted with the device.
Most vehicle owners hoped that the deadline would be extended.
Until January 9, as many as 1.26 crore FASTags were distributed in the nation.
