Dr Siddeek Ahmed to receive the First Gulf Madhyamam Indo-Arab Business Icon Award

Dammam:  The first award instituted by  Gulf Madhyamam for Indian expatriates playing key role in promoting trade relations between Saudi Arabia and India, named 'Indo-Arab Business Icon' is being conferred on Dr Siddeek  Ahmed. 

The award will be presented to Dr Ahmed at the 'Ahlan Kerala' event being held on Thursday at Durrat Al-Riyad Expo Ground in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Dr Siddeek Ahmed,  who has made investments in diverse fields over three decades,  is also known for being the voice of Indian expatriates in Saudi Arabia.   The award has been declared as part of the Business Conclave session of the Ahlan Kerala event, the first Indian cultural-commercial fiesta in the country being organised by Gulf Madhyamam,  in conjunction with Expo Horizon and the strategic partnership of Riyadh Chamber of Commerce.

The recognition is being conferred as an incentive for more entrepreneurial individuals to enter and invest in the trading sector of Gulf region,  said VK Hamza Abbas, Chief Editor of Gulf Madhyamam,  the first Indian newspaper to be published abroad.   He added that together with his successes in the business world, Dr Siddeek has made creative and creditable interventions in expatriates' affairs and played an effective role in bringing the issues of Indian diaspora before authorities.

A much accalaimed initiative by the award winner was the scheme called 'Swapna saphalyam' (meaning dream come true) in co-operation with Kerala government,  offering flight tickets for emigrants who had to return to India following the amnesty declared by that Saudi government.  

He has also been active as member of the India-Saudi Council member of Federatrion of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry,  and of Confederation of Indian Industry's Gulf Committee .  Eram Magnaflux Systems, a research and development firm based in Pune and headed by him, recently developed one of the world's largest solar panel test benches. Dr Siddeek is also a member of the Middle East Petroleum Club.

Apart from his entrepreneurial successes, Dr Siddeek has left his stamp in philanthropic initiatives as well running several charity projects which won him several accolades.   A native of Mankara, Palakkad he has a family consisting of his wife Nushaiba Siddeek and children Rizvan Ahmed Rizana Maryam and Rizvi Maryam.
