Kerala higher secondary results out, uptick in pass percentage

Thiruvananthapuram: Registering a slight uptick in percentage, the results of Kerala higher secondary examination came out on Wednesday

84.33 percentage of those appeared for exam are eligible for higher studies. Last year it was 83.75 percentage.

Minister C Raveendranath didn’t attend the news conference due to the prevalence of election model code of conduct. General education secretary A Shajahan announced the results.

Of the total 369238 students appeared for the examination, 311375 become eligible for higher studies. As many as 183 students secured 1200 score out of 1200 and 14244 students gained A+ in all subjects.

The pass percentage among girl students stands far above that of boys: where 91.15 percent of girls qualified for higher studies, only 76.60 of boys made it to higher studies.

In science stream 86.04 % students become eligible for higher studies. In humanities and commerce pass percentage stands at 79.82 and 84.65 respectively.

Kozhikode topped the list with 87.44 %, while Pathanamthitta (78 %) is the lowest in pass percentage. Malappuram district has the highest A+ winners for all subjects.
