Thrissur: Sample fireworks of Thrissur Pooram will be held on Saturday evening. At 7 pm, Thiruvambady Devaswom will light up fireworks at Thekkinkkad Maidan to be followed by Paramekkavu. The show will last for an hour.
Main round of fireworks will be held on Pooram day, which falls on May 13, this year.
The fireworks displays have attracted controversies every year, with many Pooram watchers voicing that it can be avoided. Aside from air and noise pollution, they point to danger to human lives as well.
