V. S. Achuthanandan slams the twin murders

Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran communist leader V. S. Achuthanandan on Wednesday condemned the twin murders in Kasargod last Sunday, describing them as ‘diabolical’.

The murders would, “cast a chill over the collective consciousness of Kerala society” The Hindu quoted him as saying.

His words came at a time when the party was scrambling to wash its hands of the crime.

VS said planned execution of political rivals was a deviation from the party line. Also, there would be no place for killers and those who instigate murders in the party, he said.

VS urged the leadership to expel members who violated the party line.
