Sreedharan Pillai incited violence, prosecution tells HC

Kochi: The prosecution for Kerala government on Tuesday told High Court that BJP state president PS Sreedharan Pillai induced those protesting over sabarimala to engage in violence.

BJP leader was seeking to quash the case registered over his controversial Calicut speech.

His speech the prosecution contended was aimed at disrupting the peace and starting riot.

There was evidence that Pillai called for “ engaging in battle’ to stop entry of women of menstruating age from entering the temple.

Also, prosecution argued that through his speech Pillai challenged the Supreme Court judgment asking president of Yuava morcha to block women.
