Writer M. Rasheed passes away at 90

Kozhikode: Writer M. Rasheed passed away at his daughter’s residence in Salem on Friday following a heart attack. He was 90. 

Son of eminent freedom fighter E Moidu Moulavi, he was an active participant in the Quit India Movement in 1942. Rasheed was also jailed during the freedom struggle.

He was one of the founding members of the Revolutionary Socialist Party and the editor of the party’s mouthpiece Sakhav.

He will be laid to rest at Ponnani on Saturday morning.
