Ahamed's death: Muslim League seeks PM's reaction

Kozhikode: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should answer questions in Parliament on the allegations that the RML Hospital officials concealed information on the death of E Ahamed.

Talking to the media here on Friday, Muslim League General Secretary K P A Majeed said that the unethical approach of the hospital authorities was a serious matter as Ahamed was not just a League leader but a senior Parliamentarian.

The Opposition members in the Lok Sabha had on Friday disrupted proceedings in the House after the Speaker refused to allow an adjournment motion seeking discussion over the way the RML Hospital officials handled the senior leader's death.

Earlier, Ahamed’s family had lashed out at the administration of the RML Hospital where the veteran leader was admitted for not being allowed to meet him or even consulted regarding his medical procedures.

The funeral of Ahamed, who died in the early hours of Wednesday in Delhi following a cardiac arrest, was held in his native city Kannur, Kerala, Thursday.
