Law Academy demolishes main gate

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Law Academy Law College was on Saturday demolished its main gate, which was constructed on encroached land.

The College management demolished the gate in the present of Revenue officials in the morning. As per reports, the compound wall is also likely to be demolished soon as that too is constricted on encroached land.

The district administration had on Friday issued a directive to the Law Academy to demolish the gate based on a report by revenue principal secretary P H Kurien.

The secretary found that the academy had constructed the gate on government-owned land, assigned to the Kerala Water Authority.

Based on Kurien's report, minister for revenue E Chandrasekharan had on Wednesday instructed the district administration to demolish the main entrance.
