Vigilance quizzes K Babu’s wife, brother

Kochi: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) on Monday quizzed former Excise Minister K. Babu’s wife Geetha and his sister K K Joshy in connection with a disproportionate assets case registered against him.

Geetha was questioned to collect more information on her alleged role in removing valuables and documents kept in bank lockers prior to registration of the case against Babu. The CCTV footage collected from the State Bank of Travancore branch in Tripunithura had shown Geetha emptying the lockers on August 10.

She was questioned for around three hours.

The Vigilance summoned K K Joshy, an LIC employee, to enquire about his financial dealings. The anti-corruption sleuths had received complaints against Joshy too.
