Kochi: Justice Mohan Shantanagoudar took his oath in as the chief justice of Kerala High Court on Thursday.
He had served as the chief justice of Kerala High Court.
After completing LLB from University Law College, Dharwad, he practised as a lawyer under the guidance of I G Hiregoudar at Dharwad for a year and moved to the Karnataka High Court, Bengaluru, and joined the chambers of Shivaraj Patil. While practising as an advocate at Karnataka High Court, he was also the president of Karnataka Bar Council.
He served as the Karnataka state public prosecutor for three years before being elevated to the additional judge of Karnataka High Court in May 2003 and as a permanent judge in September 2004.
