Uniform civil code: IUML to convene Muslim outfits’ meet on Oct 29

Malappuram: As part of its campaign against the Central government’s move to implement the Uniform Civil Code, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has decided to convene a meeting of the Muslim organisations in Kozhikode on October 29.

“A meeting of all the Muslim outfits will be held in Kozhikode on October 29. After that, a public meeting will be organised,” the IUML leaders said.

“It is the matter to be decided by the religious scholars,” they said on the issue of Muthalaaq, adding that “the political intervention into it will not be allowed.”
