Court orders registration of FIRs against Adoor Prakash, Kunjalikutty in land deal

Muvattupuzha: The Vigilance court has directed the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau to register FIRs against former ministers Adoor Prakash, P.K Kujalikutty and controversial godman Santhosh Madhavan in the land deal case.

The court also pointed out irregularities in the quick verification report and ordered VACB to register case and proceed with the investigation against two ministers and Santhosh Madhavan.

The court had ordered VACB to conduct quick verification after a social activist filed complaint in March this year.

The UDF government order that granted permission for the company to use about 127 acres that included paddy fields at Ernakulam and Thrissur districts had triggered a controversy.

Following it, the government had later cancelled decision to hand over "surplus" land by according concession under Land Ceiling Act to a private company allegedly having links with controversial godman Santhosh Madhavan.
