Jisha murder accused remanded in judicial custody till July 13

Kochi: Amir Ul Islam, the accused in the brutal rape and and murder of Dalit student Jisha, was on Thursday remanded in judicial custody till July 13.

He was brought to the court by the probe team without wearing the black mask.

The Perumbavoor Judicial First Class Magistrate Court had on June 21 sent him to 10-day police custody till June 30.

The Kerala High Court had rejected the plea for a CBI probe into the case, stating that the new SIT had been set up in the case

The 29-year-old law student was brutally raped and murdered on April 28, in which her body sustained at least 30 injuries, including on her private parts.
