Kochi Metro coaches handed over to Kerala

Hyderabad: Kochi Metro Rail Ltd has received the first set of 25 trains for Kochi Metro from French company Alstom.

The first coach of Kochi Metro Rail was unveiled by the Union Minister of Urban Development Shri Venkaiah Naidu in the presence of state minister Aryadan Muhammed.

The three coaches having the most modern facilities will be brought to Kerala by road, in long trailers specially made for this purpose. It will take ten days for the coaches to reach Aluva.

The coaches will be joint together at the Muttam yard in Kochi.

A single coach of Kochi metro has a length and width of 22 metres and 2.5 metres respectively.

K.V Thoman, MP, Hibi Eden, MLA, DMRC chief advisor E.Sreedharan, MD Manku Singh and KMRL MD Alias George were present at the function.
