Congress demands resignation of M M Mani

Thiruvananthapuram: As the Thodupuzha Sessions Court dismissed a discharge petition filed by veteran CPI-M leader and Power Minister M M Mani in the Anchery Baby murder case, the Congress on Saturday demanded his resignation as minister in the LDF government.

KPCC President V M Sudheeran, while talking to the media, said it was not proper that Mani continue as a minister.

"He should resign on his own or Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan should oust him from the cabinet," Sudheeran said.

He also said that listing Mani and district Secretary K K Jayachandran as accused in the case was a severe setback to "CPI-M's politics of violence.
