Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against against former Finance Minister K M Mani in a corruption case.
Earlier, Vigilance Director Jacob Thomas had ordered a probe into the case on the basis of a petition by Nationalist Congress leader Advocate Noble Mathew.
Mathew had alleged that Mani gave illegal tax concessions to poultry traders and Ayurveda medicine manufacturers. The concessions cost around Rs 200 crore loss to the government.
The beneficiaries were four poultry wholesale traders who imported goods from other states and ayurvedic wellness medicine manufacturers, the petitioner alleged.
