New Delhi: Actor Suresh Gopi took oath as a Rajya Sabha (RS) MP on Friday, becoming the first Mollywood actor to be a part of the upper house of the Indian Parliament.
He took the oath in English before Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari.
His family members were also present at the gallery of the House to witness the oath taking ceremony of the superstar.
The actor, a vocal supporter of Narendra Modi, had earlier said that his nomination was a gift by the Prime Minister to the people of Kerala.
He had been a star campaigner for the BJP since the last Lok Sabha election.
