Abu Dhabi: A 56-year-old Keralite, who was accused of raping a seven-year old girl, has escaped the gallows after the UAE Supreme Court Tuesday commuted his sentence from death to ten years imprisonment.
E.K Gangadharan, a native of Tirur in Malappuram, is to be deported after serving the sentence.
Gangadharan, an employee of the school, was arrested on April 14, 2013 on charges of raping the second-standard student in the school's kitchen.
