Ravi Palod likely to be Deputy Speaker

Thiruvananthapuram: Nedumangad MLA Ravi Palod, who is chairman of the Legislative Committee for Official Language, is likely to be named Deputy Speaker.

The Congress has reached in a consensus on giving the post to the A-group leader after K Muraleedharan refused the offer. Muraleedharan informed Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala that he was not interested to take up the post.

The RSP had earlier demanded the deputy speaker post. However, the Congress refused to bow down. The KPCC took a stand that I can’t give away a post it held previously.
