Bar bribery: Vigilance to question K M Mani soon

Thiruvananthapuram: Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) will be questioning Finance Minister K M Mani soon in a case registered against him in connection with the allegation that he had accepted bribe from a bar hotel owner to renew liquor licence.

The Vigilance had sought Mani to be present for the questioning at a convenient time.

The office of the minister has informed the officials his readiness to give his statement but said the time will be conveyed according as the minister is busy with his official duties.

Meanwhile, the Vigilance has decided to subject the computer hard disc of bar owner Biju Ramesh, who raised the bribery allegations against Mani, to forensic examination. The officials will move ahead with it following an approval from the High Court.
